We are looking for Sous Chef

Overview

As a Sous chef you will be responsible for all aspects of managing the Kitchen and Kitchen personnel, ensuring the quality preparation of all menu items and proper handling/ storage of all food items in accordance with company standards. Coordinates the purchase of all food and develops menus and maintain approved food costs.


Job Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for the kitchen's daily operations.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
  • Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Creating new dishes and menus.
  • Maintaining/raising the food's profit margins.
  • Monitoring and controlling stock levels.
  • Ensuring correct stock rotation procedures are followed.
  • Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking.
  • Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediately.
  • Must possess a positive attitude and have the ability to work with a variety of people and in cooperation with co-workers efficiently and effectively
  • Establish the day's priorities and assign production and prep task to staff to execute
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
  • Serves as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors.
  • Guide and motivate colleagues to work more efficiently.
  • Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards.
  • Ensuring Culinary Standards and responsibilities are met for kitchen Team.


Qualification and Experience

  • Previous experience in the Culinary field required
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
  • 3-4 years of experience in a hotel or restaurant industry, knowledge of the Club industry is an advantage
  • Highly responsible and reliable
  • BS degree in Culinary science or related certificate would be an advantage
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • High attention to detail is absolutely essential
  • A team player attitude and ability to work within a cohesive team is required
  • Thorough knowledge of the Hotel & Restaurant industry; knowledge of the Club industry will be an advantage
